Founder and President
Amaal Aref
Educational consultant and curriculum developer working at the intersection of Arabic language acquisition, Quranic education, and the operational realities of running a school well.

Amaal Aref is the Founder and President of Aref Educational Solutions and the Education Director at MAS DFW. She develops educational pathways, school systems, and initiatives rooted in language, identity, purpose, and lasting impact.
Her signature contribution is the Quranic Language Pathway Model, a developmental Arabic framework that moves children from immersion in the sound of the language toward comprehension of revelation and tadabbur. The model is implemented at Rising Stars Academy in Dallas, where it runs as a half-day Arabic immersion program for ages 3 to 5 alongside an early-elementary model with daily 90-minute immersion. The Pathway takes the existing Quran Blossoms Model and extends it into a long term journey with the Arabic language toward tadabbur, reflection and understanding, and receiving the huda that Allah SWT intended from His Book.
Her consulting practice covers curriculum standards, Arabic assessment and placement protocols, documentation, process optimization, and school culture. She founded and convenes the Palestine Educational Conference, now in its third year, and is a co-founder of World Storytime Live.
Speaking and scholarship
She presents internationally on Arabic assessment, early-childhood language pathways, and tadabbur as the purpose of Arabic instruction. Recent platforms include the Australia Islamic Schooling Conference, the Florida Islamic Schools Conference, the ISLA Research Symposium, Mimber Academy: Education Unboxed, and MAS Dallas.
Her talk Data Over Desire: Arabic Assessments That Reflect Student Skill, Not Parent Preference addresses why Arabic placement so often reflects pressure rather than proficiency, and what schools can do about it.
At the ISLA Research Symposium she presented From Recitation to Reflection: Why Early Childhood Programs Are Essential for Meaningful Reflection on the Quran on an international panel, arguing that tadabbur begins long before a child can translate a verse.
Influential Women has recognized her as a leader and innovator in the field of education.
